The University of Petra in
Jordan was established in 1991 in order to provide
educational programmes related to Arts and Sciences,
Information Technology, Pharmacy, Financial and Administrative
Sciences, Architecture and Design and Law (6 faculties). UOP offers Bachelor and Master Degrees, and the capacity of UOP is about 8000 students; the students enrolled in UOP belong to
31 nationalities. UOP has a number of supporting units, centers and facilities, among them is the Language Center, the UOP Pharmaceutical Center (PUPC),the E-Learning Center, the Continuous
Education Center, and the Academic Development Center.
The University's research programs flourish
across a range of areas, backed up by alliances with other major
research institutions. UOP has signed a number of scientific and
cultural agreements with international professional institutions and has
introduced a significant scholarship scheme for MA and Ph.D candidates.
