In 1985, MOHE was established to create entrepreneurship in higher
education by rooting the culture of excellence, innovation and scientific
research and regulate the relationship with institutions of higher education.
MOHE works on supervising the sector of higher education in Jordan
through the Higher Education Council which assumes the responsibility of
establishing the general policy for the higher education sector, the
Scientific Research Support Fund and the Higher Education Accreditation
Commission; with the assistance of the technical and administrative staff
of the Ministry represented by various departments that support work progress
in order to promote the level of higher education in Jordan. This is also
achieved through a committee that is charged with recognizing HEIs and
verifying, recognizing and equalizing all documents issued there.
