CIMEA - Information Centre on
Academic Mobility and Equivalence was established in 1984. Since 1986, it is
operating on the basis of an agreement with the MIUR (Ministry of Education,
University and Research). CIMEA is the Italian centre within the NARIC network
(National Academic Recognition Information Centres), ENIC network (European
Network of National Information Centres on academic recognition and mobility)
and MERIC network (Mediterranean Recognition Information Centres).
CIMEA owns an international documentation centre and a
few specialised databases and gives information to individuals about the
recognition of foreign study qualifications, provides advice to institutions on
the comparability of foreign qualifications, promotes the free movement of
citizens and participates in several EU projects.
